There are a variety of ways to decorate with balloons, from simple to elaborate. You can also use balloons to create a variety of different looks, depending on your event’s theme. They’re perfect for birthdays, graduation parties, a baby shower, and more.

Here are 10 balloon ceiling decorations to inspire you for your next special event.
This is a classic look using standard-size latex balloons with a simple balloon ribbon tail. These can be made using helium or air-filled balloons.
Things to know about this design, Helium balloons will only float for around 8-12 hours after that the balloons will start to deflate and come down so be careful what time you blow them up to ensure they will last the duration of the party.
Air-filled balloons can be made with either an electric pump or handheld and stuck to the ceiling with glue dots, they can last weeks and is more cost-effective than using helium
This look is created by blowing up each individual latex balloon with helium, tying a knot and adding balloon ribbon to each balloon and grouping them into a bouquet and securing them together, letting the balloon ribbon tails hang down in the center. These will float for around 8-12 hours.
You can recreate this look by using a mix of different sizes of large balloons 18 & 24-inch balloons would look best for this design, if you have a high ceiling I would add in some 36-inch balloons too. You would blow up each individual balloon with air, add fishing line to suspend the balloons at different heights from the ceiling. These would last for weeks or even months.
If your venue has beams, or maybe the ceiling is too high to work with, balloon garland clusters would really add pops of color to your event space. To make these you would blow up individual balloons and tie them in pairs, you would then group the pairs into a cluster and secure to the beam with 260q balloon, elastic, fishing wire or balloon string. These garland clusters would last for weeks or even months.
These can be made by blowing each balloon up with air and securing it onto the streamer using fishing wire, These will last for around 2 weeks.
This look is a mix of large foil orbz balloons and clear bobo’s balloons filled with confetti or feathers, again these can be made with helium and will float for around 2 weeks or can be air-filled and secured to the ceiling with glue dots and would last for months.
These ceiling balloons are made using 5-inch mini balloons air-filled and attached to the string by sewing them on using a needle. These would look nice for about 2 weeks.
This balloon design is made using latex balloons and latex confetti balloons & foil balloons, blown up with either air or helium and attaching a long foil tail, the easiest way to make the tail is to cut up a metallic foil party curtain.
Foil balloons will float for around 2 weeks and the latex balloons if filled with helium 8-12 hours.
This look is great for proposals and bachelorette parties, Standard latex balloons are used on the ceiling either with helium or air and a foil slogan balloon is added to the wall using glue dots.
Helium balloons 8-12 hours, Foil wording would last months.
